Procrastination is a time thief! And if you don’t manage it, it will manage you. This week’s goal is to overcome procrastination by creating checklists.
We’ll start by making a simple checklist of the tasks you want to get done in the coming week. The first thing I usually do is check all of my calendars. My work schedule, volunteer obligations, church events, birthday calendar, and special event or holiday party invites. If you have school-aged children, be sure to review their school calendars to make sure you are up to date on upcoming events, tests, games, and any other school activities.
Reviewing these calendars first, allows me to get a visual picture of what’s ahead and it also gives me an idea on how to plan my checklist accordingly. As you begin to get used to creating a weekly checklist, it will become easier to create multiple lists. I have checklists for everything, including a yearly checklist, a monthly checklist, and my super-duper daily checklist. And, I don’t leave the house without a grocery list. These lists help to keep me on task.
