Today is Monday, January 26th and this is week #4 of 52 Mondays with Sheréa VéJauan.
Today, I want to encourage you to choose a word that will guide you through 2020. Think of a word you can focus on and experience every day, all year long. One word that sums up who you want to be, or how you want to live. It should excite you, inspire you, and challenge you.
In 2009, I began a tradition of choosing a song, a quote, a scripture, and a theme for my forthcoming year. When I first started, my themes consisted of multiple words that I wanted to focus on.
In 2015, my theme was Thoroughness, Sowing Crazy Seed, and Dying Empty.
In 2016, my theme was Celebrate, Decorate, Connect, Complete, Affirm, Petition, and Give.
In 2017, my theme was Speak Up, Believe, Ask, Clean, Organize, Forgive, and Sow.
During the last months of 2017, I decided to narrow my themes to one word. I chose the word Freedom. I wanted to be free: worry-free, debt-free, stress-free, and drama-free.
In 2018, I chose the word Yes! Yes, to GOD. Yes, to purpose. Yes, to travel. Yes, to new opportunities. Yes, to fun. Yes, to new ideas. Yes, to all of things I said “no” to during the previous year.
In 2019, my word was ACCELERATE!
In 2020, my word will be Legacy!
