“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” -Oprah Winfrey

There are three challenging life areas for me; fun, travel, and celebration. It also doesn’t help that I’m a recovering introverted perfectionist. For those of you who are perfectionists, like me, you may also find it very hard to celebrate if you are not one hundred percent proud of something. It could always be better, right? If you set a goal to lose fifty pounds, but you lose twenty-five, celebrate the twenty-five. Don’t let perfectionism discourage you from celebrating your success.

Here are Five Ways to Celebrate Your Success:

Decide in advance that you will celebrate.
Decide in advance how and when you will celebrate.
Write a celebration affirmation.
Create a celebration board.
Find a partner that will hold you accountable.

For motivation, I keep a celebration board in my office to remind me of my milestones and achievements.
