I believe that one of the key elements to goal setting is to write your goals down. I believe that those who write their goals down are far more likely to achieve them, compared to those who don’t. Your journey begins when you write down your vision. 

In case you get stuck when getting started, I’ve listed a few goals that you can use. At the very least they should spark ideas, which you can easily adapt for your own use.

Health and Fitness Goals

  • Drink 1 gallon of water every day
  • Work out 3 times a week
  • Lose10 pounds by April 15th
  • Take a15-minute walk every day
  • Do 50 sit-ups each morning before getting dressed
  • Compete in a 10k before the end of the year
  • Buy organic fruits and vegetables every Friday at the local Farmers Market
  • Reboot 3 times a year with Sheréa VéJauan
  • Stick to a Meatless Monday plan for the entire year

Relationship Goals

  • Schedule a date night at least once a week
  • Write your loved ones a love letter and mail it to them
  • Visit your parents once a week
  • Join a dating site by February 1st
  • Send birthday cards to my friends and family
  • Set aside one day a week to have lunch with my spouse

Finance Goals

  • Save $100 per month towards purchasing a new car
  • Work part-time to save an extra $6,000 by the end of the year towards purchasing a new house
  • Pay off all credit cards by December 31st
  • Invest $1,000 into the stock market
  • Participate in Sherea VeJauan’s 52-week Money Challenge

Home Goals

  • Organize the garage
  • Redecorate the master bedroom
  • Grow organic vegetables in the backyard

Personal Goals

  • Self-publish my first book
  • Start my new business this summer
  • Become a better writer
  • Volunteer at a hospital
  • Drive to the nearest ocean and walk on the beach

Recreational Goals

  • Take a road trip
  • Ride in a hot air balloon

Personal Development Goals

  • Read 100 books this year
  • Learn a new language
  • Learn one new word a day

Career/Business Goals

  • Look for a new, higher paying position, and secure it by the end of the year
  • Submit resume to ten employers by February 1st
  • Read a new book each month based on your market or niche
  • Create a blog site and write two blog posts each week
  • Hire a business coach to help with business goals
  • Create a business plan
  • Send Christmas cards to all of your clients each year
  • Attend at least one seminar or conference each year
  • Create one new product each year to increase profit margin

Family Goals

  • Watch TV at least once a week with your kids
  • Dedicate Sundays as family time for the entire summer
  • Enjoy a family night out at the movies during summer vacation
  • Book a family camping trip
  • Plan a family BBQ for the 4th of July weekend

Spiritual Goals

  • Attend a weekly Bible study at a local church
  • Meditate every morning

Travel Goals

  • Go skiing with your family
  • Visit Disney World in the summer
  • Buy or rent an RV for your summer vacation
  • Plan to drive across the country this summer
  • Go to the Olympics
  • Visit Niagara Falls by July
  • Go on a European river cruise with your spouse in the spring
  • Visit the Great Wall of China
  • Visit your birth town and take your family with you
  • Travel Route 66

Giving Goals

  • Give at least 10% of all income to charity
